Terrie was a life saver! An absolute incredible woman. A legend. I simply do not have the words to describe what she meant to me. She was a constant in my life and an inspiration through and through. Terrie taught me many many things and got me through my darkest days. I simply cannot express what she meant to me. We loved her to pieces.
She gave me strength and hope when there was none, helped me see things with a different perspective and literally gave her all with everything she strived for. She is missed beyond belief. An absolutely beautiful soul, gone too soon.
Love and comfort to all her family. Thinking of you all and hoping you gain comfort in the incredible memories.
Love to you all.
Fly high Terrie….you deserve it all!!
❤️
Terrie (Terrier!)
Thank you is not enough to express my gratitude for everything you did for me. You were always there for me and taught me how to navigate through some of my biggest life challenges. You taught me to be brave, and to be true to myself, and not a day has ever gone by that l haven’t been grateful for the changes you helped me make. I owe you the world. Thank you for so many laughs, you were quite simply the funniest, kindest and most incredible person, and l will never ever forget you.
Much love always,
Gabbie (Fannie!)
Deepest sympathy to your family, Terrie would be so proud of you all x
Dear Ben, Alex and James,
I wrote this tribute to your Mum on Facebook and wanted to share it with you. She was a wonderful woman.
My heart is broken. The amazing woman and social worker who saved my life (and possibly Angela’s) 21 years ago when Angela was a baby, passed away last week.
Terrie was a fiercely independent woman and a role model for so many of us who participated in the PND support group that she ran for many years. She impacted so many lives, so many families. She was a nurturer. She called Angela “our baby”, and was so proud when I sent her photos from Angela’s graduation from Uni in December. She said “I can’t believe our baby is all grown up”.
She was quirky and eccentric, and had a wicked sense of humour. I remember one day at the PND group some kids were being ratbags and I couldn’t handle it anymore so I picked up baby AJ and ran out of the room. I heard Terrie burst out singing “Onward Christian soldiers” to change the energy in the room and make the kids stop dead in their tracks. I can still hear her snort when she laughed.
We stayed in contact and over the years we became friends, chatting and supporting each other through whatever crap life threw at us. Last year she called me and I told her about how much I was struggling trying to clear Mum’s house. She asked me what was happening and I said do you really want to know, and she replied I wouldn’t have asked if I didn’t. That was Terrie, always there with a listening ear and advice.
I did a counselling diploma because I wanted to be like her, and do for other women what she did for me and my family, and so many others. I worked at PANDA where she had worked before we met. She later inspired me to study social work so I could do more. I am who I am today in part due to Terrie.
She was a rock, a force to be reckoned with, and I can’t believe she’s gone.
Tezza, what can I say, you will be so missed! Your exuberance for life, always helping someone or fixing something for someone, the sparkle in your eyes whenever you spoke of your beloved family with so much pride.
Heartfelt condolences to Ben, Alex, James and families.
Terrie, you will always be remembered fondly for being such a special part of the pub family! Thank you for your help and the wise words of wisdom you loved to share. Always keep shining xxx
Dearest Terrie
Thank you for all the fun outings we had together when we were over visiting Alex & Darren. Taking us to the Radio Springs Hotel with the black & white silent movie are memories we will treasure forever.
We will miss your sunny disposition, your incredible knowledge, your kindness & unwavering selflessness. Nothing was too much trouble, you were always available to help family and those in need.
We’re going to miss you so much T.
All our love Jane & Andy Bourne xx
