Slyvia was always such a caring soul with a warm heart. She welcomed everyone and treated them like family.
In loving memory of Slyia who filled the world with beauty, just as she did with her flowers, nurturing life with her gentle touch. Her love for gardening was a reflection of the kindness she shared with us. May she rest in peace.
Love Joy and George
What a kind and gentle soul you were Sylv.
To complete your love story ,Alan is going with you.
My love goes out to your family at this sad time. Sending love also from the rest of the Butler family.
Dear Sylvia,
My first clear memory of you was when you left Australia to sail across to the other side of the world in”a very large white boat”! I was very impressed indeed. You and Alan were always friendly and caring whenever we met and, of course, Robbie has kept me informed of your adventures over the years. I know you and Alan will be sorely missed.
Love from your little cousin,
Joanie❤️

Dear Sylvia,
I am grateful that destiny brought us together. Even though we have not seen each other for many years. But my memories live on forever.
There are so many things I want to thank you for. Going to Australia when I was young, It is not somethings that easy. But when I got to know you. You make me feel warm like home.
You are a very lovely and kind woman. You always prepare food for me to eat during the day. I still miss the taste of sandwiches and delicious lemon cake you make.
I often told my family about my memorable experiences in Australia. When my children grow older, I will take them back to the place I went to in the past, Box Hill, a small place but it warms my heart every time I think of.
May your soul find rest.
Love and miss you always

I met Sylvia about 50 years ago at her Auntie Joan’s house in Terrigal when I was going out with her brother. Every year thereafter it was Christmas at Terrigal and later Port Macquarie. Sylvia was a girl of many talents, fiercely supportive of natural fibres, organic produce and sustainable living before it was fashionable. Sylvia was a quiet achiever, masterminding with Al, the build at Glen Arm, fitting into country life as though she was born to it. Sylvia and Al made sure their children had a great education as their priority, always putting them first. Sylvia was a home-maker of the highest degree, making everyone welcome. But that is not all there was about Sylvia – she shone when she reached Base Camp on Mt Everest, and later took up the challenge of climbing Mt Gower on Lord Howe Is. In addition to all these attributes, Sylvia was always up for a chuckle and a chat. I will miss chatting with her but I am glad that she will be reunited with her beloved husband, Al. Much love, Sylv. RIP ❤️
I will always cherish memories of my lovely, softly spoken cousin.
Rest easy Sylvia, you will be very missed.xx
So sad to hear about Sylvias passing. She was my eldest cousin on Mums side of the family. Sylvia was very kind, loving, and quietly spoken. So much like Mum (her Aunty Joyce). Mum always spoke highly of Sylvia. She used to read stories to her, Robyn and Warwick when she babysat them. Mum was so happy to see Sylvia and Alan at her 90th birthday party and when she came to visit Mum at the nursing home before she passed away. It was so special for them to reminisce about the earlier years.
My husband Ross and I had the pleasure of visiting Sylvia and Alan when we holidayed in Victoria. They were both very welcoming and invited us to stay with them overnight in their beautiful home. They showed us around the property and explained how their home was built. What a wonderful achievement for them both. Something I will never forget the time spent with them. Love to all their family. God gave us memories which we all have of our loved ones, and they are always with us. xx
Her photo says it all – kind, warm, intelligent. How lucky you all were to have Sylvia in your lives for so long… And her influence remains… But so sorry she could not be with you longer…
I have many happy memories of Sylvia as a young girl. We shared lots of fun times one of which was dating two best friends, where we stuck up for each other. Her mum, dad, Warwick and Robyn shared lots of fun times over dinner with me. Sylvia always remembered the names of my four children and they loved being with her.
I was so excited to meet Alan and attend their wedding, and he also became a dear friend.
They were never far from my thoughts though distance separated us.
