Michael Kenneth GILBERT
The celebrations of Michael’s life will take place on Tuesday 7 January 2025.
There will be a brief burial service at 10:30 am at Woodend Cemetery (16 Buckland Street, Woodend) for those who are able to attend. There is no parking within the cemetery grounds, so on-street parking on Buckland Street is recommended. Please note that, from the main cemetery gates, the grave is about an 8 to 10 minute walk which is on uneven ground and partly uphill.
Attendees with mobility issues may prefer to enter the cemetery grounds via the rear pedestrian gate on East Street for flat ground access to the gravesite without the hillside climb.
The memorial service for Michael will then be held from 11:45 am at the Gisborne Church of Christ followed by a gathering with refreshments at the church for all to enjoy sharing their memories and stories of our beloved Michael.

I will always remember you at hampers. Always willing to help, always very nice while doing the BBQ. May you Rest in Peace with the Lord and I am always praying for your family. I was just at Woodend the other day and thought of you and Karin. We just thought to drive there and I said to myself, Oh Michael and Karin lives here. I was still hoping to see you at hampers to tell you of my new Woodend adventures and finds and to let you know I have finally mastered baking sourdough. We will miss you at hampers .. it will never be the same.
Michael, when dad got sick in 2011, I would come into the nursing home several days a week and see a kind face sitting faithfully by his bed. This has left a lasting impact on me, as I was able to see the depth of your kindness and the great humanity you carried within. Rest in peace. My condolences to Karen and Michaels children and family- Greg Foster
Michael you knew how much I loved you. You were the perfect brother full of wisdom and kindness. Your advice was always perfect.

Rest well with your fathers until Jahshua comes to take you home.
Dear Family,
Michael was truly a wonderful, big hearted loving man. Thanks you for all the advice over the years.
Sending our condolences to the Gilbert Family
Rip Michael..
Michael was my best friend. We did many things together and he was always upfront with me when he was not happy with what we were doing. He was very friendly and respectful. I will miss Michael and his kindness. My grand children were very close to Michael and loved his kindness when he visited us in South Africa. They were very upset that Michael is no more.
To Karin and the children I say , although Michael fell on his sword, he fought a good battle. With these few words I request the Gilbert’s family to accept our condolences .
