The moment I found out that my best friend was pregnant, my heart felt like it could burst with happiness. I was beyond excited — we had dreamed about this moment for so long. The thought of you, baby Grace, already brought so much light into our lives.
I remember your ultrasound like it was yesterday. The first time I saw you, I cried. You gave the tiniest wave, and it felt like you were saying, “Hi Aunty Kayla, I’m on my way.” In that instant, you captured my whole heart.
Grace, you were only here for a short time, but you left behind a love so big and deep. You were perfect. Beautiful. So incredibly loved. Watching your mum become a mother, even just for a little while, was one of the most powerful and beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed. She was made for you, and you for her.
My heart aches in ways I can’t describe. It’s not fair. You should be here — being cuddled, sung to, and spoiled endlessly by all of us, especially your Aunty Kayla.
One day, when I have children of my own, they will grow up knowing exactly who you are. I’ll tell them all about their beautiful angel friend in the stars. I’ll share your story, your name, and how much you mean to me. You will always be a part of my family — their little guardian friend, watching over them from above.
