Sophie Ginns CRABB
The livestream will open at 1pm for an approximate 1:15pm ceremony start.
It is with deep grief that we tell you we said our final farewell to our beautiful Sophie Ginns Crabb at the very end of 2025.
Soph died surrounded & held by people she loved and who loved her.
At 27, it was a life way too short, marked by a tumultuous search for place, purpose and peace. Her joy, spirit, beautiful smile and light were too often obscured by the extraordinary challenges she faced all throughout her adolescence and adult life.
Sophie’s spunk, humour, laughter, love of water, and empathy were the Sophie we knew and remember with great love. An artist, motor enthusiast and tinkering mechanic, Sophie explored much. She dreamt of bigger things for herself in those spaces and in others.
But it was not to be.
The difficulties Sophie faced in life were immense and the ripples of her struggles deeply affected those who loved her most.
And so, in mourning this unfathomable loss, it is a genuine relief and comfort to know that she is no longer suffering.
You have been loved by so many, Soph. We, and all your extended family and friends will miss you greatly and permanently.
As her little sisters say, Sophie has flown away now. Fly free.
A ceremony to honour Sophie’s life will be held 1pm on the 27th of January 2026 at 75 Reid Street, Fitzroy North VIC 3068.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Housing and Homelessness organisation, Micah Projects – micahprojects.org.au
Children are warmly welcomed.

What a beautiful service and a beautiful tribute to Sophie. All who spoke honoured her memory with such courage, rawness, and pure love. I am so deeply sorry that her life was cut so cruelly short and that you are left to feel the sting of her absence. I hope you find comfort in the knowledge she’s no longer feeling any pain. Lots of love to you all (and with extra special hugs for A & G) xxx Jessie, Irfan, Rafi, Zaki & Sami
Sophie my memories of you are of a beautiful little girl visiting your Gran and Da and your cousins, aunts and uncles in Julia Creek and later in Townsville. You had a mind of your own and a will of iron and you were always ready to have a go at the rough stuff with your country cousins. I remember how your Gran and Da were so proud of you and how Gran loved taking you to have your nails done when you were in Townsville. I remember reading you stories when we visited in Melbourne and how you didn’t want me to leave. I have so many happy memories of you Soph and these are the ones I will keep in my heart.
Aunty Bette
Sophie, you left this earth way too young but you will always remain in our hearts and we will cherish the many memories shared.
As a baby you were like a little doll, those eyes, those big cheeks, so sweet and perfect.
You were more than your struggles in life you were ntelligent, free spirited and full of curiosity and that is how we will remember you.
You loved your time in Julia Creek and then Charters Towers…. riding horses, mowing on the ride on mower, camping, fishing and swimming in the creeks and spending time with Gran and Da and your cousins. These moments – sunlight, care free and full of life … this is where you belong in our memories.
You had dreams right to the very end, hopes of who you might become and the life you still wanted to.live but sadly the battle was too tough.
We love you Soph and you will remain in our hearts forever 💕

Tribute:
Dear Sophie,
We only knew you through the eyes and many heartfelt stories your Dad, Shelly and family would share with us over the years, and so we also knew of the enormous burden you carried as a young woman finding your way. And we knew you were so loved, so dearly, heart achingly, loved. And we know there were really good times, and honest emotion, and genuine growth. Oh Sophie, your beautiful soul will be missed. We’re here for your Dad, Michelle, Gabi and Abi, your family and friends – all who hold such enormous love for you. Be at ease, Sophie, Rest In Peace.
With all our love
Michael and Jenny
Thank you, Sophie, I enjoyed our time together. And I really glad I meet you.
Not good bye, we will see each other again.
We didn’t meet you Sophie, but know your family and how much they loved you. Rest in peace.
