Brian Maxwell POWER

Dear Family & Friends,

It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of Brian Maxwell Power, on Friday, 27th December (AEST) at the Austin Hospital in Melbourne, Australia. After a long and tenacious battle with cancer, he passed with his wife by his side. It was calm and peaceful, and for this we are deeply thankful.

Brian leaves behind his loving wife Cheryl, daughter Liza, son Steven, and his grandchildren who loved him dearly; Trinity, Harmony, Liberty and Ted. Throughout his life, he was known for his determination, and strong desire to do things his own way, qualities that showed themselves clearly in his final years. When doctors gave him three years to live, six years ago, he characteristically proved them wrong, fighting on with remarkable resilience. As you loved to say Dad, you fixed them right up!

We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional dedication, care, and kindness that Dad received from Dr Andrew Lim, Myeloma Clinical Nurse Consultant Emily Bramstedt, and the team at the Austin Hospital.

We are relieved that he is now at peace, and no doubt doing what he loved best – talking to everyone around him about trucks, Porsches, and real estate! While we mourn his loss, we celebrate the extra time his fighting spirit gave us. Rest easy, Brian.

A service will be held on Thursday, 9th January, 2025 at 11.00am at LaTrobe Golf Club, 8 Farm Road Alphington VIC 3078.

Donations in honour of Brian can be made through Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre
